Healthy CMHA 2000
By joining forces with community partners, Case
Western Reserve University's Urban AHEC is working hard to make sure
that residents of the Cuyahoga County Metropolitan Housing Authority
(CMHA) are healthy.
Healthy CMHA 2000 is funded by the Robert
Wood Johnson and Cleveland foundations. In addition to Case Western
Reserve University College of Medicine, community partners are CMHA
and the Health Museum of Cleveland.
Through community outreach, education and
activities, the program promotes good health and connects housing
residents to health care and social service agencies in Cleveland.
Physicians from the College of Medicine contribute the latest information
to community residents and health care providers. Students are a
part of the Healthy CMHA 2000 team, providing outreach and education
activities.
Through this program, students learn about
cultural differences from the residents and develop clinical assessment
skills while the residents get the health care and social service
care they need.
