Primary Care Opportunities
To help recruit men and women into primary care medicine, Ohio State University developed a brochure emphasizing the advantages of the specialty.
Over 650 students interview for 210 positions each year for The Ohio State University College of Medicine. When they interview, each is given the primary care medicine information book.
It explains the specialty, career opportunities and addresses the myths and realities about primary care. In addition, it identifies student academic opportunities such as scholarships, fellowships and extra-curricular opportunities offering experiences with clinics and internal and pediatric medicine.
With the brochure potential students receive a better understanding of the role of primary care physicians and the services they provide to communities.
