Health Resource Center
Health care professionals in southwest Ohio
have a convenient source for educational information and materials
at the Health Learning Resource Center at Health-UC located in Georgetown.
The Health Learning Resource Center lends
videotapes, equipment and teaching models/displays free of charge
to health care professionals, educators, hospitals, nursing homes,
schools and senior centers for educational programs. Annually approximately
600 requests for information are filled.
Affiliated with the University of Cincinnati,
HEALTH-UC also belongs to the Rural Ohio Valley Health Sciences
Library Network. The network expands local access to current professional
journals and reduces the cost of providing up-to-date information
to the staff of each member institution.
Consumers can also obtain health information
through the Health Learning Resource Center. In addition to consumer-focused
videotape programs, individuals can access print materials and NetWellness.
NetWellness is a computer-based consumer health information resource
system that includes the option of having individual health questions
answered by experts from the University of Cincinnati, The Ohio
State University and Case Western Reserve University.
The center provides health care education
materials at no or reduced costs for the community.
