Supporting Communities
Every year thousands of health care students from Ohio's medical colleges gain valuable clinical experience by training at community hospitals, clinics and physician offices. Community health care providers serve as "out-of-the-classroom" instructors for the students. At each of Ohio's AHEC Centers a community or advisory committee identifies local community educational goals and partners with Ohio's seven medical colleges to place students in the best possible learning situations. In addition, AHEC Centers offer numerous community programs and health care professional continuing education opportunities through each of the centers.
